Tikva Housing Society operates on a non-profit business model.
Operating funds are needed for the mortgage, building maintenance and necessary improvements, limited resident support and for continuing housing subsidies to existing residents. In addition to the rental revenue from the building, Tikva Housing Society receives support from the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver and from donations from generous community members. Nevertheless Tikva Housing Society must continually strive to ensure sufficient operating capital is available.
Tikva Housing has two primary and ongoing funding needs: Operating Fund and Membership.
Funds are required to properly maintain existing housing programs:
- Dany Guincher House;
- Esther Dayson Rent Subsidy Program, and
- To develop additional housing units primarily for low income singles and families of the Jewish community of Greater Vancouver.
