How can I rent an affordable housing unit with Tikva Housing?
Tikva uses the Jewish Housing Registry to determine eligibility for housing when vacancies becomes available. We do this by analyzing your housing application based on family composition, gross income, and other additional information that is submitted through your online application.
Do I qualify for affordable housing and what type of unit would I get?
Your qualification for affordable housing is determined by your gross income and assets, which varies per applicant. The type of affordable housing you might get is determined by a number of criteria, such as family composition and mobility restrictions if any.
How long will it take to get placed in a unit?
Unfortunately, there is a high demand for affordable housing and the number of applicants is much greater than that of the number of units available. The length of an Applicant’s wait time will vary depending on the type of housing need and vacancies. Your application will remain active in the Jewish Housing Registry until you are housed.
I need a place to live by the end of the month. Can you help me?
Unfortunately, Tikva Housing does not provide emergency housing.
